Embracing Autistic Play
In November of 2022, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association published an article that I wrote about Autistic play.
“The way our autistic students play is likely different, but it’s not wrong and does not need to be fixed. By using each child’s strengths and interests, and accepting their play as valid by joining in their preferred activities, you both learn more and create an authentic connection that will likely grow.”
